TY Bake Sale

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the final countdown for our Transition Year immersion trip, the 21 students preparing to depart for Mauritius and Reunion Island are gearing up for one last major fundraising effort. We are asking all families within the Transition Year community to row in behind the boys for a final "big push" before they head off on May 17th.
To make this a success, we are kindly requesting that all TY families and students support a Bake Sale which will be held on the corridor this coming Friday, May 8th.
We would be incredibly grateful if you could contribute by making or providing cakes, buns, or treats to be sold to students across all year groups. This is a wonderful opportunity for the year group to come together for a final effort to support their peers.
Thank you for your continued generosity and support in making this life-changing trip possible.
Mr Oliver Doolan

DCU Open Day
We will be leaving school by coach 11:30am from the Ailesbury Road gates this Tuesday, 5th May. The DCU, Glasnevin Campus, Open Day runs 12:30 - 2:45pm - we will return to school no later than 3:30pm.
The DCU Open Day is designed to give TYs a taste of student life on campus. Throughout the day, TYs can attend course talks: 20–25 minute presentations covering course content, work placements and career prospects, repeated at various times so you can fit them around your schedule.

Beyond the talks, there are interactive spaces where you can chat with current students and explore projects and creative work. If you're unsure where to go, drop by one of the Information Tents on campus, or ask one of the Student Ambassadors - look out for their blue jackets or red high-vis vests.

Spiritan Global Citizenship Education (GCE) Event
A very special day with some incredible moments. A special thanks to Mr Doolan and team for all their work on putting on such a rich and engaging day.
Pizza Making Workshop

A very special thanks to Fabio of the Secret Pizza Society. The results were (quite literally) delicious! The groups had the pleasure of preparing and enjoying authentic Neapolitan pizza and by all accounts it was a tremendous success. Well done to everyone.
Flynn Park Outing

A great day out. We were especially fortunate with the weather, which made the day all the more enjoyable. A special thank you to everyone involved - a day to remember.
Welcome to our South African Students

Welcome to our St Alban's Students who arrived on Wednesday morning. A special thanks to our host families for showing our guests such hospitality.
Social & Professional Excellence Programme, 14th and 15th May
Jacqueline King will run a two day Social and Professional Excellence Programme for Transition Year Students.
Jacqueline is a nurse with 36 years of professional experience, including several years working internationally. Her programme is modern, practical and evidence-based, designed to support students at key transition points in education and life.
The course focuses on:
Building a personal brand and positive attitude
Communication skills and first impressions
Cultural agility and emotional intelligence
Dining etiquette and professional behaviours
Confidence in situations such as interviews, presentations, oral exams, work experience, summer jobs and meeting new peers
The programme is inclusive and particularly supportive of students from overseas, helping them understand Irish social and cultural norms while celebrating the diversity of all cultures within the group. A key outcome is the confidence that comes from knowing how to act in different social and professional settings.
